You always knew the day would come,
Where you stop using your finger to point at me.
Now you use your thumb,
Does that help you feel……. Free?
Back then premonitions became knowledge,
And the lies were blended to produce half-truths,
But what I fail to acknowledge
Was that you already knew, just like a cat jumping roofs.
The moments for departures were written in your demeanor,
So many clues, so many times your eyes shone the real you.
Now I understand why you were always so eager,
It’s cause you knew, you always knew.
The recollection of unheard voices comes to me now and then,
The irrefutable signs that this was all you were looking for,
Not only to be the witness of my fall, but to say “AMEN”
While I was struggling to get up from the floor.
